Goddard in Greenbelt, MD is NASA’s premiere space flight complex and home to the nation’s largest organization of scientists, engineers, and technologists who build spacecraft, instruments, and new technology to study Earth, the Sun, our solar system, and the universe. On our 2-hour guided tour we will visit satellite construction, testing and operations areas as well as a guided presentation in the visitor center theater. Lunch will be on your own at Silver Diner.

Join us for an authentic Appalachian railroad journey across the scenic countryside of Romney, WV to see American bald eagles in their canyon home. An excursion highlight is the iconic view into the Trough Canyon at Sycamore Bridge as we cross the historic South Branch Potomac River. On the 3-hour narrated historical round trip we will immerse ourselves in nature on an open-top Gondola car with timeless scenic views. While on board we will have a wonderful dining experience including meatloaf with scalloped potatoes, mac & cheese, baked BBQ chicken, vegetable lasagna, served with green beans, cole slaw, and a dessert. This trip is in conjunction with the City of Fairfax Young at Heart Senior Center. Transportation will be a 55-passenger bus with a restroom.

For nearly three centuries, Hanover Tavern in Hanover, Va. has been a part of events that transformed America from an English colony to an independent nation. The owners, guests, and inhabitants of the Tavern have shaped the history of Hanover County, the Commonwealth of Virginia and, indeed, the United States. We will have a guided tour of the Tavern’s first two floors showcasing the history of the 18th-century Tavern in architecture, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and African American history. We will enjoy a premier dining experience at the Hanover Restaurant & Pub to include buttermilk fried chicken, pulled pork BBQ, cole slaw, southern style green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls and assorted desserts.

We will enjoy afternoon tea including tea sandwiches, scones, croissants, pastries, and of course, a pot of tea. After our tea there will be time on your own to stroll the streets of historic Old Town to enjoy seasonal shopping, and see buildings bedecked with garland, historic architecture, twinkling lights, and the 40-foot stately Market Square Christmas tree is the central attraction.
