For nearly three centuries, Hanover Tavern in Hanover, Va. has been a part of events that transformed America from an English colony to an independent nation. The owners, guests, and inhabitants of the Tavern have shaped the history of Hanover County, the Commonwealth of Virginia and, indeed, the United States. We will have a guided tour of the Tavern’s first two floors showcasing the history of the 18th-century Tavern in architecture, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and African American history. We will enjoy a premier dining experience at the Hanover Restaurant & Pub to include buttermilk fried chicken, pulled pork BBQ, cole slaw, southern style green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls and assorted desserts.
